From the Founding Principal
A message from Jayden Croft
Welcome to Croft College of Software & Game Development. The college was founded on a simple conviction: that serious teaching in software and games ought to be open to anyone willing to do the work — whatever their age, background or means.
We are not a university. We hold no government recognition and we award no accredited qualifications. What we offer instead is teaching, plainly given: four departments, a fixed daily teaching window of twelve until six, and a curriculum built around practice rather than ceremony. Our academic year runs from January to December, beginning with 2027.
The college is young, and I would rather say so than pretend otherwise. If you are eighteen or over and the work interests you, register your interest — we would like to know who is coming.

The Departments
Four houses of study
The four departments below are proposed. Course listings, programme structures and teaching allocations are not yet confirmed; confirmed details will be published by the Registry as the college develops.

Programming
Software craftsmanship
How software is designed, written and kept working: programming fundamentals, the tools of professional practice, and the discipline of reading, testing and reasoning about code.

Game Development
Systems and play
The design and construction of interactive systems: gameplay programming, systems design, and the iterative craft of building, testing and refining a game.
Enter the department
3D Art & Design
Form, light and material
The visual side of development, taught as a studio discipline: three-dimensional modelling, surfacing and lighting, and the composition that makes a scene read clearly.
Enter the department
Digital Production
From build to release
How creative and technical work is organised, finished and delivered: production planning, asset and audio pipelines, and the practicalities of putting work in front of an audience.
